Volunteering or interning with the Excellence Center in Syria offers meaningful opportunities for participants arriving in the country. We are confident you will find your experience rewarding, as working alongside local communities and our team provides a unique chance to contribute, gain practical experience, and learn or practice Arabic in a deeply rich cultural and social environment.

At the Excellence Center in Syria, we provide opportunities—depending on the program schedule—for volunteers and interns to explore local cities, historical sites, and cultural landmarks. During your stay, you will meet local professionals, experience Syrian culture firsthand, and gain insights into social initiatives, education, and community development. You will also have the opportunity to learn key Arabic phrases or further improve your language skills through daily interaction with locals and host families.

Life at the Center includes shared meals and regular interaction with our team, creating a welcoming atmosphere for cultural exchange with staff, volunteers, and community members. Accommodation is typically arranged with local host families (subject to availability) or in shared housing near the Center.

As the Excellence Center in Syria does not receive regular funding from governmental or non-governmental organizations, all volunteers and interns contribute a participation fee, starting from €250 per week. This fee helps cover accommodation, coordination, and program support. Local transportation is generally affordable, and our team provides guidance on safe and practical travel options. Please note that the workweek runs from Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend.
